The Nextdoor neighborhood social media application, a free online and smartphone app, has an interactive Help Map that shows where people in the community are in need and where those who can help are located. In an effort to bring resources to people in communities who are significantly more at risk of developing dangerous symptoms if they contract the coronavirus or are simply unable to leave their home during the pandemic, the neighborhood-focused social media app Nextdoor launched the Help Map, a feature designed to connect people in need with people who can help. The tool is a screenshot of your neighborhood and its resources. Members can add themselves to the map detailing the errands or support they can help the elderly and at-risk neighbors with. Users can offer essentially any type of free service from picking up groceries to mowing the lawn.

The police department will check on senior citizen participants once a day who register for the Call Check program. This program is available to City of Mt. Juliet residents who are 65 years of age or older. Every day a telephone call will be placed to a participant at a regularly scheduled time. These calls will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. If the participant does not answer their first call, they will be tried two more times. If those calls go unanswered, additional calls will be made to notify an alternative person who is selected by the participant during program enrollment. This could be an adult child, a neighbor, or another loved one. The alternate will then be encouraged to check on the older adult program participant. The failure of the participant and alternate to answer may result in a Welfare Check by the police department.

We recommend all seniors use the program as a resource during the COVID-19 global pandemic. Senior Call Check phone lines are open M-F 8 am-5 pm. During these hours, seniors can call toll-free 615-754-3925 to register with Records Supervisor Richard Frankich. You can also register online here:

Local Testing Sites

Tennesseans should first call their usual source of care. If an assessment cannot be done in that location, individuals should call the assessment sites prior to going onsite. Most locations do a phone assessment to determine if an in-person assessment or test is needed. Most individuals, particularly those with mild or no symptoms do NOT need a test.
